Reports To: Store owner
Key Responsibilities:
The TQC manager/floor lead is responsible for ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for our customers, ensure supplies are on-hand for floor model patterns, classes, and all things that are considered “basics”. I expect you to ensure that work is pipelined efficiently, customers are greeted warmly, and our staff know just how much we value them. I’m looking for a person that possesses the knowledge, experience, adaptability and judgement for this role.
The ideal candidate must portray professional leadership in both your words and actions. Sees possibilities and stays in pursuit of continuous improvement. Maintains a disciplined eye for detail that reflects in how the store is presented each day. Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers, team members, and suppliers. Protects and is an ambassador for the Quilt Crossing brand and a key part of my leadership team. Holds self and those reporting to them accountable for superior performance and results in all that they do. How we divide the tasks amongst the team will largely depend on the skills the new person brings to the team.
- Current knowledge and interest in sewing products. You must be able to demo and sell.
- You'll need basic math skills--quilting requires math
- Balance work with the other floor leads and floor staff. Honestly you will be doing the work as much as directing it. It's a small business
- Close out registers at the end of the day
- Doing Restock and managing the reports. We have to have a process in place that moves inventory from the back to the front so it can be sold.
- If you have sewn on a Bernina it would be a huge benefit. Newer models help. you will need expertise in both the sewing machine portfolio and also the serger portfolio.
- Patient demeanor. honestly people are typically happy when they come to a quilt shop but we are as much counselors as we are helping them find their next project. you just have to meet every person where they are. It is very rewarding
- playing a key role in eventing--we are always throwing a party (and the actual work of eventing)
- ensure product is setup for classes and staff knows what classes are upcoming so we are able to sign folks up for all the fabulous classes we have
- work with newsletter/social lead
- display are crisp and the floor is clean. we are working with hundreds of floor model, lots of new product all of the time and keeping things tidy and items restocked requires attention to detail.
