Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Excavate, grade, and compact ground surfaces; set up and align wooden or metal forms for concrete pours.
- Material Placement: Mix, pour, shovel, rake, and smooth asphalt and concrete according to project specifications.
- Finishing Work: Use hand tools (trowels, floats, screeds) to finish concrete surfaces; match and tamp asphalt joints for a seamless finish.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy tools and machinery, including jackhammers, concrete saws, plate compactors, and rollers.
- Site Safety: Maintain a clean, hazard-free work zone; assist with traffic control and flagging when working near roadways.
- Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools, paving machinery, and construction vehicles after daily use.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1 to 3+ years of professional experience in concrete pouring, finishing, or asphalt paving.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and perform strenuous manual labor in extreme heat, cold, or dust.
- Tool Proficiency: Confident using power tools, small engines, and measurement layouts.
- License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certificate preferred.
- Schedule: Ability to work early mornings, weekends, or overtime as required by project deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour
