We are seeking a skilled Agricultural Mechanic to keep our dairy operation running smoothly. In this role, you will maintain and repair a diverse fleet of farm equipment, support company owned vehicles, and stationary machinery. You will ensure critical equipment is operational year-round, especially during planting, harvesting, and daily feeding cycles. Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Site Farm Fleet Maintenance: Diagnose and repair diesel tractors, loaders, silage harvesters, pickup trucks and heavy farm trucks.
- Dairy Equipment Support: Maintain specialized machinery including TMR feed mixers, manure pumps, scrapers, and backup generators.
- Field Repairs: Perform emergency mobile repairs on equipment directly in the field or barns when necessary.
- Preventative Maintenance: Manage scheduled service intervals for oil, filters, fluids, and grease points across all machinery.
- Welding & Fabrication: Use welding and cutting tools to repair implements, buckets, gates, and structural farm equipment.
- Shop & Inventory Management: Keep the farm shop organized, track spare parts inventory, and document all maintenance logs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience with agricultural machinery or heavy equipment (John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, etc., preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in hydraulic systems, electrical troubleshooting, and diesel emissions systems.
- Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose mechanical issues independently in a fast-paced farm environment.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus for moving equipment on public roads.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 75 lbs and work comfortably in outdoor farm conditions (all weather types) and livestock environments.
- Multi-Site Travel: A company service vehicle will be provided for travel between our three designated farm sites.
- Preferred: Graduate of a dedicated Diesel Technology or Agricultural Equipment program. Specialized manufacturer training is a major plus.
Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
