Job Description:
Audiology Assistant at a fully functioning clinic in an educational setting.
**Join a collegial team consisting of audiologists, speech and language pathologists, and teachers of the deaf who strive to do the very best for each individual child and family.**
The Audiology Assistant I assists pediatric audiologists and performs delegated tasks that are prescribed, directed, and supervised by a certified and/or licensed audiologist.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned as required.)
- Assists with hearing testing and hearing aid and cochlear implant programming
- Maintains function and calibration of audiology equipment
- Handles repairs and troubleshooting of patient equipment and loaner devices
- Completes a variety of administrative tasks
- Handles all mailing for the audiology department
- Manages department phone/email and communicates with device manufacturers, other professionals, and parents/caregivers/patients
- Performs inventory, orders supplies, and keeps audiology spaces stocked/cleaned
- Uses the CounselEAR electronic medical records system to manage patient information and schedule appointments if requested
Required skills/Qualifications: A good candidate for this position will:

- Have basic child behavior management skills
- Be organized, internally motivated, detail oriented, and able to multitask
- Have a desire to learn
- Be able to work well with others and be part of a team
- Have good communication skills
- Have basic computer skills including understanding of Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook
- Have basic knowledge of office management, clerical, administrative tasks (scanning, copying, faxing, etc.)
- Have appropriate, professional phone/email etiquette
Desired skills:
- Experience working with children
- Experience with CounselEAR or other EMR database
- Healthcare or education background
- Knowledge about audiology
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe
- Writing/editing experience or skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences or Speech and Hearing or related field (preferred)
- Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent work history (considered)
- At least 1 year working with children (considered)
