Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Nursing Scheduler to manage and coordinate nursing staff schedules at our nursing home. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring adequate staffing levels to maintain high standards of resident care while complying with state regulations and facility policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, etc.)
- Monitor and adjust schedules to ensure proper coverage for all shifts, including holidays and weekends
- Respond promptly to last-minute call-offs or shift changes; arrange replacements as needed
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked, time-off requests, and staffing patterns
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and Human Resources to forecast staffing needs and resolve coverage gaps
- Communicate schedule changes and updates clearly and promptly to all nursing personnel
- Assist in onboarding new staff into the scheduling system and coordinate initial orientation schedules
- Ensure compliance with state and federal staffing regulations and internal labor policies
- Use scheduling software (e.g., Kronos, OnShift, ScheduleAnywhere, etc.) to manage rosters efficiently
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
- Must be a licensed CNA
- Experience in healthcare scheduling (preferably in a long-term care or nursing home setting)
- Familiarity with nursing roles and staffing needs in skilled nursing facilities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle sensitive situations discreetly
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of labor laws and healthcare staffing requirements
- Bilingual a plus
- Experience with [insert facility's scheduling software if known]
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with regular communication with floor staff
- Must be available for occasional evening or weekend calls to manage urgent staffing needs
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
