Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm to set a positive tone for their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring quick processing of sales transactions
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including processing payments and providing correct change
- Maintain knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures to ensure guest safety
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting stations, and supporting kitchen staff as needed to keep the dining area clean and organized
Requirements
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred; fine dining experience is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently with excellent time management skills
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately
- Familiarity with wine knowledge, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques
- Food industry experience including food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Experience in serving guests in a fast-paced environment; host/hostess or cashiering background is beneficial
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
