Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cabling and Camera Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of low-voltage systems, including CCTV surveillance cameras, network cabling, and telecommunication equipment. Your expertise will ensure our clients receive reliable security and communication solutions, enhancing safety and operational efficiency. Duties
- Install and configure CCTV camera systems, ensuring optimal placement and functionality according to schematics and client specifications
- Run, terminate, and test various types of cabling such as Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage wiring in commercial and industrial settings
- Perform fiber splicing to connect fiber optic cables for high-speed data transmission
- Set up and troubleshoot network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Ethernet switches, and VoIP telephony systems
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install and repair telecommunication systems
- Conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on cabling infrastructure and related equipment using hand tools and power tools
- Ensure all installations comply with NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety standards such as NEC guidelines for low-voltage wiring
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or installer in telecommunications or data networking fields
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet cabling, and network hardware
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, equipment repair, electrical wiring, and low-voltage systems
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and installation manuals for structured cabling projects
- Ability to operate hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, drills, and power tools safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of telephony systems including Avaya platforms and telecommunication standards like NEC regulations
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally for project sites
