Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to work on a variety of vehicles and equipment. This position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that our shop operates efficiently and reliably.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy, medium, and light duty, including but not limited to brake repair, hydraulics, and alignment.
- Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
- Conduct inspections of tractor-trailer systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery safely while performing repairs or moving equipment.
- Use diagnostic equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to quality standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding techniques.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and equipment repair.
- Experience working with tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- Valid driver's license; additional certifications related to diesel mechanics are a plus.
