Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Commercial Underwriting to lead our underwriting team and oversee the assessment and management of commercial Credit risks. This executive role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in Commercial Lending financial analysis, risk assessment, and Commercial Lending industry regulations. The successful candidate will drive underwriting excellence, ensure compliance with lending standards, and support the growth of our commercial portfolio. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the commercial underwriting team, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies that optimize risk management and profitability
- Conduct detailed financial statement analysis, including cash flow, risk, and credit assessments
- Collaborate with clients, brokers, and internal teams to negotiate terms and facilitate seamless loan or insurance transactions
- Utilize financial modeling, data collection, and quantitative research techniques to evaluate complex risk scenarios
- Ensure compliance with all relevant loan regulations, financial services standards, and industry-specific legal requirements
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, risk assessments, and underwriting documentation for executive review
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors affecting commercial lending and insurance markets
- Drive continuous improvement in underwriting processes through technological integration and data analysis tools such as Microsoft Office applications
Experience
- Extensive experience in commercial underwriting within the Commercial Lending Industry with prior banking experience required.
- Must understand Loan Committee and the process.
- Proven track record in credit analysis, financial statement interpretation, and risk management
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts including forecasting, financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and quantitative analysis
- Familiarity with banking operations, mortgage servicing, loan origination, and compliance with loan regulations
- Demonstrated leadership skills managing large teams or portfolios in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in financial software platforms, Excel data analysis tools, and technical accounting practices
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly
- Industry knowledge of financial regulations governing commercial lending.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
