POSITION SUMMARY:
The Construction Manager is responsible for the leadership and oversight of multiple projects, including the daily management of FLT Site Managers and subcontracted crews. This role ensures all work is completed on time, aligned to scope, and delivered with the highest level of quality, safety, and efficiency.
The Construction Manager drives consistency across jobs by enforcing standards, developing field leaders, and ensuring strong communication between FLT, builders, and trade partners.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Team Development
- Hold daily meetings with Site Managers to review job status, identify risks, and drive accountability
- Train and mentor Site Managers on FLT standards, including scheduling, communication, quality, and financial responsibility
- Establish clear expectations for performance and ensure consistent execution across all projects

Project Oversight & Field Execution
- Oversee multiple jobs to ensure schedule adherence, quality, and production targets are met
- Ensure Site Managers are walking jobs daily, identifying deficiencies, documenting everything and driving immediate resolution
- Confirm jobsites are clean, organized, and inspection-ready always
- Set schedule expectations at job start and adjust timelines in ProCore (or other software) as needed

Preconstruction & Plan Management
- Ensure Site Managers are working from correct plans, selections, and scopes
- Validate coordination of framing, plumbing, HVAC, and other key systems prior to execution
- Confirm plans are properly marked up and reviewed with crews before layout and production begins

Quality Control & Production Standards
- Enforce a “do it right the first time” approach across all projects
- Ensure work is complete at each phase before crews progress to the next stage
- Verify pre-trade punch is complete prior to crew move-off
- Require re-inspection after corrections to confirm scope is 100% complete

Financial & Operational Management
- Monitor job costs, labor performance, and production across all assigned projects
- Ensure alignment between estimates, field execution, and profitability
- Identify inefficiencies and drive improvements in labor, materials, and sequencing
- Support subcontractor pricing discussions and review labor/payroll inputs as required

Client & Subcontractor Coordination
- Ensure Site Managers are meeting with builder Construction Managers/Superintendents to review plans and scope
- Serve as escalation point for jobsite issues and ensure timely resolution
- Manage subcontractor performance, expectations, and accountability

Documentation & Systems
- Ensure consistent use of Construction software, FLT App, and related systems
- Validate Site Managers are documenting:
- Start dates, weather, and material deliveries
- Jobsite photos and daily progress
- Exception issues (delays, shortages, etc.)
- Maintain accurate, real-time visibility into project status

Safety
- Enforce FLT’s zero-tolerance safety standards across all jobsites
- Ensure completion of:
- Routine safety inspections (minimum one per community)
- Toolbox talks with crews
- Address safety violations immediately and ensure corrective action

Additional Responsibilities
- Verify adherence to FLT protocols for quality control and pre-trade completion
- Ensure final post-walks are completed prior to next trade mobilization
- Oversee equipment checks (including forklifts where applicable)
- Management reserves the right to adjust responsibilities as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in construction management with framing and/or trim background required
- Experience managing multiple projects and leading field teams or Site Managers
- Strong understanding of residential construction, sequencing, and architectural plans
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience with BuilderTrend, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires the ability to work extended hours in a field environment exposed to varying weather conditions. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle, read construction plans, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Office work includes extended time at a computer, completing documentation, and coordinating with vendors and teams.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
