MAIN FUNCTION
The IT Security Lead coordinates with the CIO, IT Manager, IT Administrators, and institutional stakeholders to ensure the secure, reliable, and high-performance operation of Albizu’s network infrastructure and cybersecurity services.
This role blends hands-on technical leadership with direct end-user support. The incumbent is responsible for network configuration, cybersecurity controls, incident response, and day-to-day service delivery that directly supports faculty, staff, students, and administrative operations. The position ensures that network and security services meet institutional service level expectations, regulatory requirements, and higher education best practices.
Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, clear communication, and a consistent, service-oriented approach.
The IT Security Lead is a hands-on position requiring technical support for end users.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field with five years of experience supporting enterprise network or security environments with at least one cybersecurity certification. Required.Plus,at least five (5) years of progressive experience supporting enterprise network or security environments.

Experience

Five (5) years of experience supporting enterprise networks and security infrastructure.

At least two (2) years of hands-on experience with network configuration, firewalls, VPNs, and security controls.

Experience supporting multi-campus or higher-education environments strongly preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity principles, incident response, and regulatory compliance requirements (FERPA, PCI DSS, or similar).

Proficiencyin Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and standard network and security management tools.
Salary: $55,000.00 Annually
Essential Functions

Provide technical support for network-related issues affecting end users, classrooms, labs, administrative offices, and remote users.

Support faculty, staff, and students with secure connectivity, including wired/wireless access, VPN access, authentication issues, and secure remote access.

Ensure professional,timely, and service-oriented communication with the end-user communityregardingnetwork incidents, outages, maintenance windows, and security advisories.

Collaborate with IT Administrators, IT Quality Lead, and IT Technicians to ensure network and security tickets are properly categorized, prioritized, escalated, and resolved within defined SLAs.

Serve as an escalation point for service disruptions related to network availability, security access, and performance.

Assistwithmaintainingcurrent software and hardware inventories, including PC hardware, servers, network equipment, and peripherals. Ensure all installed software is licensed correctly and documented.

Design, configure, implement, andmaintaina secure enterprise network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks.

Configure and managefirewallrules, NAT policies, VPN tunnels (site-to-site and remote access), and secure access controls.

Implement andmaintainnetwork redundancy, failover, and resiliency strategies to support academic and administrative continuity.
