Job Summary
Join our busy healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will be working in a five doctor Dermatology office with excellent hours and competitive pay. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical skills while contributing to a compassionate healthcare environment.
Responsibilities would include assisting in patient intake by collecting medical histories, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems). You would prepare patients for examinations and gather medicine list and primary care physician. Doctors need assistance in performing procedures such as biopsy, cryosurgery, skin cancer and cyst excision and some cosmetic procedures. Clean up of trays and rooms must be accomplished in order for the next patient to be brought back. Making sure supplies are stocked, instruments are cleaned and drawing up syringes are essential duties. Some patients require blood draws or administration of injectable medication.
Previous experience working in a busy outpatient clinic is preferred, although we have employed several surgical technicians in the past and this essential skill is needed. Familiarity with medical terminology and experience with electronic medical record is required. Experience in dermatology would be wonderful, but not required.
