Primary Responsibilities
· Deliver the state-approved Pharmacy Technician curriculum.
· Provide classroom, laboratory, and hands-on learning experiences.
· Prepare students for the DOPL Pharmacy Technician licensure examination and licensing process.
· Help students develop the technical and professional skills required for employment and additional education or training.
· Prepare students to successfully participate in pharmacy-related externships.
· Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom and laboratory environment.
· Use instructional technology and hands-on learning strategies to increase student engagement.
· Evaluate student progress through a variety of formal and informal assessments.
· Support student involvement in HOSA and prepare students for district, state, and national competitions and activities.
· Collaborate with industry partners to align instruction with current pharmaceutical workforce needs and support externship and entry-level employment opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:
· Hold a current Utah DOPL Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist license and be willing to complete the requirements necessary to obtain an Associate Educator License.
· Hold a valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE license area of concentration and a Pharmacy Technician endorsement.
· Hold a valid Associate Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE license area of concentration and a Pharmacy Technician endorsement.
· Hold an equivalent teaching license from another state with an endorsement comparable to the Utah Pharmacy Technician endorsement.
