Warehouse and Shipping Manager - Indianapolis, IN
The Opportunity:
Ensure the timely production and shipment of quality products. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, all S.O.Ps, work instructions, and GMPs. Proactively manage departmental metrics that impact cost. Foster a team atmosphere, provide vision, and demonstrate support of the company’s core processes. Provide day-to-day leadership of shipping departments including handing out work assignments, daily planning, managing performance of direct reports, operational decisions, problem-solving, and conflict management.

Ensures department meets production and quality goals on a daily basis.

Identifies, documents and shares departmental metrics for productivity, safety, quality, waste and any other metrics required by the company.

Plans and schedules staffing to meet workload requirements and productivity standards.

Conducts on-time performance reviews of direct reports.

Trains or ensures training is conducted in Safety, GMPs, Quality systems rules and procedures.

Participates in company LEAN manufacturing training and audits, implementing identified efficiencies in department work flow.

Leads effective department meetings.

Manages department production and quality and targets appropriate goals.

What you need to succeed:

High school diploma or G.E.D. required
-
Two to three years of related experience.
-
Effective communication with others at all levels of the organization.

Must be able to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondences, and memos.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Must be able to perform intermediate arithmetic.
-
Experience in Excel, spreadsheets and be able to access information on the internet through the ISG website.

Knowledge of proper loading techniques.

Must have the ability to operate a label machine.

Ability to operate the FedEx and UPS meter machines.

Skilled in office procedures and methods including, but not limited to, telephone communication, office systems, and record keeping.
- Must demonstrate basic personal computer skills.

Ability to maintain good attendance.
