Job Summary
Andy's Towing is hiring reliable and motivated Tow Truck Operators to join our professional team. For 80 years, we’ve provided dependable towing and recovery services throughout Central Minnesota and nationwide. We handle everything from light-duty roadside assistance to complex heavy-duty recoveries, including equipment transport, flatbeds, HD semi/tractor trailer recovery and towing.
This position involves both heavy-duty and light-duty towing operations, depending on daily assignments and service needs. Operators must be safety-focused, mechanically skilled, and comfortable working in high-responsibility roadside and recovery situations.
Shift Information
- Full-time position (various shifts available, including afternoon/evening)
- 4 day work week, on-call one night a week and every other weekend

Responsibilities
- Safely operate light-duty and heavy-duty tow trucks, including wheel-lift trucks, flatbeds, wreckers, and tractor trailers
- Recover, haul, and transport vehicles, equipment, motorhomes, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles
- Load and haul flatbed trucks and trailers to transport anything and everything including heavy equipment
- Perform situational diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine proper recovery methods
- Load and unload vehicles safely using proper equipment and securing procedures
- Inspect company vehicles and equipment regularly to ensure safety and DOT compliance
- Maintain driver logs and follow all applicable transportation regulations
- Provide professional, courteous, and empathetic customer service in high-stress situations
- Confirm service details and ensure accurate documentation of pricing and work performed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks, equipment, and yard/facility
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Minimum 3 years of driving, hauling, or heavy equipment experience preferred (or strong mechanical knowledge)
- Ability to pass drug screening and DOT physical
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic knowledge of trucks and recovery equipment preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Highly motivated and dependable
- Must live in the St. Cloud, MN area (within approximately 15 minutes of shop)
