A List Admissions & Tutoring is a boutique educational consulting and tutoring company serving students from preschool through graduate school. Founded in Southern California, we have built a reputation for providing highly personalized academic tutoring, executive functioning coaching, college admissions consulting, and educational support tailored to each student's unique goals and learning style.
Our tutors work with students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds, including public schools, private and independent schools, charter schools, homeschool programs, colleges, and graduate programs. We carefully match each tutor with students based not only on academic expertise, but also on personality, teaching style, and each student's individual needs.
Position Overview
We're always looking for exceptional tutors to join our growing team. Whether your expertise is in elementary education, advanced mathematics, science, reading intervention, writing, foreign languages, executive functioning, or college and graduate-level coursework, we'd love to hear from you.
We are seeking tutors who are knowledgeable, engaging, dependable, and passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and become independent learners. Both in-person and virtual tutoring opportunities are available based on the needs of our students.

Responsibilities
- Provide individualized one-on-one tutoring sessions
- Tailor instruction to each student's learning style, goals, and academic needs
- Help students build confidence, critical thinking, and independent learning skills
- Develop personalized study strategies and organizational habits
- Reinforce executive functioning skills when appropriate
- Adapt teaching strategies to support students with diverse learning needs when applicable
- Communicate student progress with the A List educational team
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and consistency
Qualifications
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, coaching, or academic support experience
- Strong knowledge in one or more academic subject areas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for working one-on-one with students
- Organized, dependable, patient, and engaging
- Reliable transportation for in-person opportunities (when applicable)
- When applicable, the ability to effectively support students with ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, executive functioning challenges, and other learning differences
- Experience working with students across a variety of ages and academic levels
- Executive functioning or academic coaching experience
- Availability during weekday afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends
Current college students, graduate students, classroom teachers, private tutors, and professionals with strong subject matter expertise are all encouraged to apply. We value experience, teaching ability, and the right personality just as much as formal credentials.
