Position Overview:
The Deposit Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting deposit related functions, including processing transactions, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of deposit operations policies, procedures, and system controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Processes and reconciles daily check exceptions, prenotes, ACH files, and related transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Conducts OFAC screenings on International ACH Transactions (IAT) and adheres to FinCEN reporting requirements.
- Handles ACH disputes, returns, and Federal Reserve return items (chargebacks) in accordance with NACHA and regulatory guidelines.
- Processes incoming and outgoing wire transfers, maintaining accurate logs and follow verification protocols.
- Manages foreign currency orders and process foreign checks.
- Responds to subpoenas, levies, and garnishments
- Assists with debit card dispute processing, dormant account maintenance, and cash management service setups.
- Reviews mobile deposits, large-dollar transaction reports, and other exception-based reporting to ensure risk mitigation.
- Set up Business Online Banking accounts and services, including ACH, wires, Positive Pay, bill payment and mobile banking.
- Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- 1 + years in banking operations experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to perform quality work within deadlines without direct supervision
- Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and core banking systems.
