Job Overview:
The Hospitality Aide is responsible for supporting the residents, dietary and nursing staff by assisting with resident needs centered around meal service and delivery, documentation of meal and fluid intake, and other ancillary services as directed by nursing management not requiring the skills of a certified nursing assistant.
The schedule includes;

Must work a minimum of three shifts per month, which includes two weekend shifts per month and one holiday per year

Responsibilities:

Provide support services to nursing staff by:

Answers resident call lights and responds if able or refers to appropriate staff memeber if request is fo rsomething outside of scope

Assist residents with filling out their meal menus

Passes meal trays and snacks
-
Records resident meal and snack intakes
-
Fills and passes water to residents
-
Assists dietary staff in unit kitchenette with preparing of meal tray (adds beverages, condiments, other cold items to tray before loading onto meal carts for distribution to the units)

May assist residents not rquiring a mechanically altered diet or fluid texture at mealtimes after completing required state-required paid feeding assistant training and assessment of competency by an RN

May be requested to assit with taking meal otders on other long-term care units in the event of illness or vacation of other hospitality aide staff

Cleans resident wheelchairs and cleans/sanitizes life machines and vital signs towers as directed by the RN

Reports any noted changes in resident condition as appropriate to license nursing staff, reports resident grievances promptly to charge nurse or RN manager

Other responsibilities:

Attends department meetings and in-services
-
Norifies department staff of housekeeping/maintenance of room and equipment repair needs

Performs other duties as assisgned and directed
Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
-
less than 1 year experience
-
Registered Nurse Completion of state-approved paid feeding assistant training course (will be provided on site by Ebenezer RN education staff)
