The California Secretary of State’s Business Programs Division is recruiting to fill multiple permanent, full-time Analyst II position(s) in the Resources & Development Unit. The Secretary of State will consider the Analyst I classification for recruitment purposes. Duties will be commensurate with the level of the classification hired. A Training and Development (T&D) Assignment for this recruitment will be considered for the Analyst I classification only. To be appointed to the classification, the successful T&D candidate must fully meet the minimum qualifications by the end of the T&D assignment.
The Business Programs Division is the largest Division of the Secretary of State’s Office (SOS) and is committed to making it easier to do business in California. Overseeing and ensuring the Division’s recruitments are handled accurately and timely is a significant factor in ensuring the Division is making it easier to do business in California. - Good understanding of organizational techniques and time management skills, including techniques for prioritizing multiple projects to ensure completion by established deadlines.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills that change to meet the needs of the audience.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships across all levels of staff.
- Ability to act independently, with open-mindedness, flexibility, and tact; and the ability to act effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrates ability to review and edit written reports.
- Demonstrates ability to develop, interpret, and review policies, procedures, regulations, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and Visio is strongly desired.

In addition to the position providing telework opportunities based upon the agency’s telework policy and business needs, an Alternate Work Week Schedule is available (9/8/80 schedule consists of eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day in a two-week period with one scheduled day off every other week).
