Position Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist, under the general supervision of a Radiologist or physician, performs ultrasound procedures in both ambulatory and hospital environments. This role assists in the diagnosis of disease and injury following established protocols.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience:
- Less than 1 year of experience acceptable
Certification / License / Registration:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have or obtain within 30 days of hire/transfer
- Must be RDMS-OB certified
- Registration with one of the following:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): OB/GYN, Abdomen, Breast, Musculoskeletal, or Vascular
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S) or Breast Sonography (BS)
- Cardio Credentialing International (CCI) for Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
Other Requirements:
- All certifications must be through AHA
- Nicotine-free facility
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ultrasound procedures for OB/GYN patients according to physician requests
- Document procedures accurately and maintain compliance with facility and regulatory standards
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations for disease and injury
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
