- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
- 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
- Experience advising telecom companies.
- Experience driving cross-company alignment on high-stakes issues, and strong advocacy skills.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work collaboratively with other legal team members and cross functional teams on a variety of issues.
- Excellent risk calibration skills.

The Platforms and Devices+ Legal team seeks a hybrid counsel (Product and Commercial Counsel) to join the fun, collaborative Support, Marketing, Research, Retail and Fi Legal Team! This Legal team supports the Platforms and Devices Marketing teams, first-party retail (e.g., Google’s physical and online stores), Research, Customer Support and Fi organizations. This role requires a thorough understanding of privacy, consumer protection and insurance regulations, telecommunication laws, commercial transactions and ecommerce and global retail operations.

- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of telecoms related agreements, including network infrastructure and capacity agreements, and connectivity and interconnection transactions.
- Manage legal aspects and provide support for extended warranty and insurance programs, including insurance regulations, licensing and other regulatory requirements in each Google business region, as applicable.
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of complex agreements with care program administrators and consumer hardware extended warranty insurance providers.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of retail operations related agreements, including vendor management, supply agreements, licensing deals, OEM agreements, physical retail vendor agreements, and third-party retailer distribution agreements.
- Manage legal aspects of Google’s retail and telecoms business operations, ensuring compliance with applicable local and international laws (FCC, EU Digital Markets Act), data and privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and consumer protection, and insurance laws and regulations.
