About VAC Enrichment

Position Overview
We are seeking After School Educators to lead engaging, in-person enrichment classes throughout the school year (September–June). Educators create a safe, inclusive, and energetic learning environment while delivering hands-on lessons using VAC-provided curriculum.
Teachers should be comfortable teaching multiple classes per week across a variety of age groups, ranging from 1st Grade through middle school. Programs may include subjects such as Cooking/Culinary Arts.
This role is ideal for teachers, substitute teachers, graduate students, artists, coaches, childcare professionals, and education-minded individuals looking for consistent part-time work during the school year.
Class Information:
Wednesdays - 2:45 PM - 3:45 PM
August 24- December 9
Interviews and trainings are conducted remotely. All classes are held in person.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging, hands-on enrichment lessons using VAC-provided curriculum
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Manage classroom behavior using positive and age-appropriate strategies
- Supervise students and ensure safety at all times
- Teach multiple programs and age groups throughout the week
- Prepare materials, set up activities, and assist with cleanup
- Communicate professionally with school staff, families, and VAC leadership
- Complete required training, paperwork, and background checks
- Represent VAC Enrichment with professionalism, enthusiasm, and reliability
- Follow all school, site, and VAC supervision and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, camp, coaching, or enrichment setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage small to medium-sized groups of students
- Creative, patient, dependable, and adaptable
- Comfortable following structured curriculum while bringing lessons to life
- Ability to teach a variety of subjects and age groups
- Must pass required background checks (processing time applies)
- Must have U.S. work authorization
Additional Requirements
- Reliable transportation to assigned campuses
- Secure place to store teaching materials
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs and move throughout the classroom/campus
- Comfort standing, walking, bending, and actively engaging with students

Preferred (Not Required)
- Teaching license or classroom teaching experience

We are seeking both Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers for programs throughout the school year. Compensation varies by role, schedule, and program assignment and is paid per class/program.
Pay: From $60.00 per hour
