About the Position
We are hiring a safety-conscious and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join a manufacturing team in Provo, Utah. This position is responsible for operating production equipment, inspecting small parts and materials, performing basic testing, and maintaining accurate production records.
The ideal candidate can follow standardized work instructions, read engineering drawings, use precision measuring tools, and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manufacturing equipment according to established procedures.
- Perform basic equipment adjustments and maintenance with assistance.
- Inspect parts, components, materials, subassemblies, and equipment against specifications.
- Use measuring devices to inspect small parts and verify dimensions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standardized work instructions.
- Perform manufacturing and engineering tests according to approved procedures.
- Assist with test and fixture setup.
- Maintain accurate production, inspection, testing, and equipment activity logs.
- Identify and report equipment problems, quality issues, or deviations.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
- Participate in pre-job, safety, and toolbox meetings.
- Support hazard analysis and risk-control activities.
- Assist with scheduled maintenance activities.
- Recommend opportunities to improve safety, quality, and production efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, assembly, or inspection experience.
- Ability to work Monday–Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
- Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings.
- Basic math and computational skills.
- Ability to use measuring devices to inspect small parts.
- Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic maintenance on production equipment with assistance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to maintain accurate logs and production records.
- Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a machine operator, production operator, manufacturing technician, or equipment operator.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or other precision measuring tools.
- Experience inspecting small parts or components.
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality and safety systems.
- Experience performing basic equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with continuous-improvement or lean-manufacturing principles.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and production environment.
- Regular interaction with machinery, tools, parts, and production materials.
- Overnight schedule consisting of three extended shifts per week.
- Required use of designated personal protective equipment.
Pay: $19.26 per hour
