About the Role
As a Marine Machinery Technician, you will play a critical role in the installation, alignment, and maintenance of complex propulsion and mechanical systems. You will leverage your technical expertise to ensure vessel reliability and performance, contributing directly to the success of our maritime repair and conversion projects.
Responsibilities-
Execute the installation and precision alignment of main engines, gearboxes, pumps, shafts, and Z-drive propulsion systems.

Fabricate and fit structural machinery foundations using steel and aluminum, ensuring adherence to rigorous engineering blueprints.

Conduct comprehensive testing and inspections of mechanical components to verify compliance with owner specifications and regulatory standards.

Operate a wide range of industrial machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, and metal-forming equipment to prepare components for assembly.

Utilize precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, and torque wrenches to maintain exact tolerances.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide expert support for complex shipboard assemblies.

Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment by strictly following all shipyard safety protocols and housekeeping standards.

5+ years of professional experience in machinery assembly or as a journeyman machinist.

Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Proficiency in manual machining, including lathe and milling operations, with strong mathematical conversion skills.

Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at significant heights.

Strong commitment to safety culture and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Prior experience in a shipyard or marine construction setting.

Proficiency with laser alignment technologies and NAVSEA standard items.

OSHA 10 certification and experience operating heavy equipment like forklifts or manlifts.

Experience working with diverse alloys and materials in a maritime environment.
