Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our team at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Florida. This role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day maintenance operations to ensure our facility remains safe, functional, and comfortable for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, etc.)
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders
- Maintain grounds, including light landscaping and exterior upkeep
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, fire codes, and infection control standards
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Support emergency preparedness procedures as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior maintenance experience preferred (healthcare or skilled nursing setting a plus)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift, bend, push, and stand for extended periods
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- On-call or weekend availability may be required
