Position Summary
As a Bartender at The Boathouse at Short Pump, you’ll create memorable guest experiences by crafting high-quality cocktails, maintaining an energetic and welcoming bar atmosphere, and delivering exceptional service. Our bartenders combine precision, creativity, and hospitality to ensure every guest enjoys their time with us.
Position Expectations
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant guests
- Interact with guests, take orders, and serve drinks and food
- Assess guests’ preferences and make knowledgeable recommendations
- Mix classic and signature cocktails with consistency and flair
- Follow HOUSEpitality Family recipes and presentation standards
- Verify guest identification and comply with all alcohol service laws
- Restock and maintain bar inventory and supplies
- Complete daily checklists and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Stay guest-focused and nurture a fun, professional bar experience
- Comply with all food, beverage, and safety regulations
- Assist teammates and support other roles as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and great communication skills
- Computer literacy (POS experience with Toast preferred)
- Attention to detail and consistency in every guest interaction
- Relevant alcohol service certification preferred
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Prior bartending experience required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to go up and down stairs as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively
