Job Overview

Duties
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and material requirements.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to develop precise cost estimates.
- Conduct material cost estimating by analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, ensuring accurate quantity takeoffs.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals, including pricing strategies, labor costs, material estimates, and subcontractor quotes.
- Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed for accuracy.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams through negotiation to establish competitive yet profitable pricing structures.
- Review contracts, manage cost control measures, and ensure estimates align with project specifications and client expectations.
- Interpret technical drawings accurately and assess site conditions through construction site experience to refine estimates.
- Use spreadsheets and estimation software to organize data efficiently, track changes, and generate comprehensive reports.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams to facilitate smooth project planning and execution.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for digital blueprint review and markup.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients and subcontractors.
- Experience with using Claude
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and technical specifications confidently.
- Skilled in managing projects as a construction estimator with a focus on cost management and budget control.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
- Construction industry experience with a focus on estimating for commercial projects across various sectors.
- Deep understanding of construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and cost estimating techniques.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction, presenting estimates clearly, and negotiating effectively.

Pay: $62,384.39 - $75,129.59 per year
