Location: In-home pediatric therapy throughout Wilson County and surrounding areas (La Vernia, Adkins, New Berlin, Converse area)
Position Type: PRN / Part-Time W-2 Employee, with full time potential
Pay: Competitive per-session rate based on experience and caseload availability
About Rise & Shine Speech and Language, PLLC
Rise & Shine Speech and Language is a pediatric speech therapy practice dedicated to helping children find their voice through connection, play, and meaningful communication. We provide individualized, family-centered speech and language services in the child’s natural environment, including in-home, daycare, and teletherapy services throughout Texas.
Our approach is rooted in building relationships with children and families while providing evidence-based, engaging therapy that supports functional communication, language development, articulation, AAC, and overall confidence.
We are growing our team and looking for a passionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant who shares our love for pediatric therapy and believes that children learn best when therapy feels fun, safe, and connected.
Position Overview
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) will provide skilled speech and language therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The SLPA will work directly with pediatric clients in their homes while implementing individualized treatment plans created by the supervising SLP.
This position is ideal for an SLPA who enjoys working with children, values collaboration, and wants the flexibility and support of a small private practice environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual speech and language therapy sessions for pediatric clients in their natural environment
- Implement treatment plans and goals developed by the supervising SLP
- Support children with:
- Early language development
- Expressive and receptive language skills
- Articulation and phonological disorders
- Functional communication
- AAC strategies
- Social communication/play skills
- Complete accurate and timely documentation for each session
- Communicate with supervising SLP regarding client progress, challenges, and recommendations
- Participate in ongoing collaboration and clinical support
- Build positive relationships with children and caregivers while providing family-centered care
- Maintain professional standards, confidentiality, and ethical practice
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Texas Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license
- Ability to work independently in home-based settings
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Passion for working with pediatric clients and families
Preferred:
- Experience with toddlers and young children
- Experience with language delays, autism, AAC, or early intervention
- Knowledge of play-based therapy approaches
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
