Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Glazier/Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining glass and glazing systems across various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help ensure that all installations meet safety standards, quality expectations, and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop your skills in glass installation and fabrication, and contribute to creating beautiful, functional spaces.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install glass panels, windows, doors, and related fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installation plans.
- Fabricate glass components in the shop or on-site as needed, ensuring precise dimensions and quality standards.
- Perform heavy lifting of glass panels and framing materials safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Seal joints with caulking and perform trim carpentry to ensure weather-tightness and aesthetic appeal.
- Install frames, metal studs, cabinetry, fixtures, and doors in accordance with project specifications.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while following safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating to accurately assess project scope and materials needed.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as chisels, screwdrivers, levels, and measuring tapes; experienced with power tools including drills and saws.
- Strong knowledge of glass installation techniques along with fabrication skills for custom pieces.
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to interpret project requirements effectively.
- Familiarity with metal stud framing, drywall installation, remodeling processes, and construction painting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing multiple tasks on busy construction sites.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing joints as well as trim carpentry for finishing touches.
- Prior handyman experience or general construction background is highly desirable for versatility on-site.
