Join our dynamic team as a Field Service Data Technician, where you will be at the forefront of maintaining and repairing critical telecommunication and networking equipment in diverse field environments. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair telecommunication systems including fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, and low voltage wiring in accordance with NEC standards.
- Perform fiber splicing and cable management using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal connectivity.
- Conduct network installations involving Cat5, Cat6 cabling, and telephony systems such as Avaya and VoIP solutions.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Utilize testing equipment such as ohmmeters to verify circuit integrity and troubleshoot electrical problems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining technical issues clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during on-site visits.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports, system configurations, and installation records for future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or in a related field within telecommunications or IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, network installation, LAN/WAN configurations, and telecommunication systems.
- Hands-on experience with CCTV systems, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP technology.
- Skilled in fiber splicing, cabling (Cat5/Cat6), electrical wiring, and low voltage system installation adhering to NEC standards.
- Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring manuals accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic testing devices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel frequently to various job sites; previous field service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of telecommunication standards such as NEC regulations and low voltage wiring practices is highly desirable. Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Experience:
- Cat5 and 6 terminating and punch down: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- BICSI Certification (Preferred)
