Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and restoring various types of flooring and wall surfaces using tiles, epoxy, vinyl, hardwood, and other building materials. Your expertise will help transform spaces with precision and craftsmanship, ensuring high-quality results that meet safety standards and client expectations. Duties
- Measure and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately lay out tile patterns and installation sites.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying primers or adhesives to ensure proper bonding of tiles or flooring materials.
- Install a variety of flooring types including ceramic, porcelain, epoxy floors, vinyl, hardwood, carpet, and terrazzo with precision and attention to detail.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, grout, caulk, and finish tiles or flooring materials according to specifications.
- Perform floor refinishing tasks such as buffing and water damage restoration to restore surfaces to their original condition or enhance their appearance.
- Follow construction safety protocols and building installation safety compliance standards at all times during project execution.
- Assist with remodeling projects by installing fixtures, cabinetry, trim carpentry elements, and performing general handyman tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, building material installation, tile laying, flooring installation, and restoration industry experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., trowels, chisels), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), and schematics for interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of different flooring systems including epoxy floor installation, hardwood floor installation, vinyl floor installation, carpet installation, and floor refinishing techniques.
- Ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials safely while adhering to proper manual handling procedures.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical plans for accurate project execution.
- Experience working on construction sites with a solid understanding of site safety protocols and building installation safety compliance.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques, fixture installation (such as cabinets), water damage restoration processes, and floor care practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly during remodeling or restoration projects.
- Construction site experience combined with handyman skills is highly desirable for versatile project support.
