Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs and overall condition; report changes promptly
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning patient areas and common spaces
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
- Document patient observations, care activities, and progress accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or developmental disabilities
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities while ensuring safety during transit
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and infection control practices
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism or Alzheimer's disease is desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with resident transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed
- Compassionate attitude with a passion for providing empathetic caregiving in diverse environments
- PPD test, driver's license, valid ID
