Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Care Specialist to join our team on 3rd shift. This role is essential in providing high-quality care. The ideal candidate will have experience working with elderly populations, and assisted living care facilities. As a Resident Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by promoting independence and dignity. You will be responsible for passing their medications and providing their daily care. This is a 3rd shift part-time prn role. 2 to 3 days a week including every other weekend. 10p-6a
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's unique needs and preferences.
- Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate staff members.
- Facilitate social activities and community engagement opportunities for residents to enhance their social skills and interactions.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by following health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social workers and healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and observations accurately in accordance with organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a group home or similar setting working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices and emergency response procedures is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to lift and assist residents as needed while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Familiarity with systems used in home community care settings is an advantage.
- A background in social work or related fields is beneficial but not required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care while respecting the dignity of all individuals served.
