American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - PACU for a 13-week travel contract in Austin, TX, requiring a minimum of 3 years of perioperative care experience in a high-volume hospital setting.

28-bed PACU unit providing Phase I and Phase II recovery for patients undergoing surgery or invasive procedures from the OR, cath lab, radiology, and endoscopy
-
Supplemented by a 72-bed Perioperative Care unit where the RN will also provide Phase II recovery and discharge planning for outpatients
-
High-volume unit caring for an average of 70–90 patients daily, ranging from ambulatory surgical procedures to complex cardiovascular, orthopedic, spine, and robotic cases

10-hour day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM

No on-call, weekend, or holiday coverage required

13-week contract

Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand

Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required

Minimum 3 years of recent, full-time experience as a Perioperative Care Center RN in a high-volume hospital setting

Demonstrated proficiency in postoperative and post-procedure Phase I and Phase II patient care

Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment with minimal onboarding

Valid US Social Security Number and US home address required

Two verifiable professional references required for consideration

Copy of Driver's License required for consideration

Full SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Evaluates patients' responses to treatment and interventions and manages pain in accordance with ASPAN guidelines

Anticipates surgical and procedural-specific patient needs based on knowledge of procedures performed and pathophysiology
