Description: Provide a structured class teaching students in basketball skills and various other sports related to the sports department.
- Basketball staff teach children ranging in age from 3 to 17 years old the basics of playing the sport. This includes dribbling, shooting baskets, defending, and footwork.
- Basketball staff may referee weekend basketball games.

Basketball staff coordinate the registration of participants.

This position is not primarily a coaching position. However, basketball staff may be periodically asked to be a substitute coach when a volunteer coach is absent.
- All sports instructors assist in the success of all sports program duties such as fundraising, special events, and marketing.
- All sports instructors ensure the safety of all program participants.
- Hours: Part-time, non-exempt

Must be available on Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Qualifications: All basketball staff must be at least 18 years of age.
- Qualified applicants must have basketball and refereeing experience with at least 1 year of experience working with children (paid or volunteer) preferred.

All potential employees must submit to and comply with all requirements for employment including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, drug and alcohol testing, health screening, and tuberculosis test.

Employees must be CPR/first aid certified within the first 30 days of employment and kept current for condition of continued employment. The Anaheim Family YMCA periodically provides CPR/first aid training to staff who need certification.
