The Service Manager role is a critical part of fulfilling this goal. THE DETAILS:
Title: Service Manager
Location: Ona, West Virginia facility
Normal Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
On-Call Hours: Calls are possible 24/7 (phone furnished) though call-out’s are rare
Objective:
- This role is a key “player/coach” role, managing a service team of 3-4 Technicians (In shop and Traveling) and servicing Fire Trucks & Apparatus and Emergency Vehicles for fire departments and industrial accounts in the WV, Eastern KY, Southern OH region.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Ona, WV service team.
- Supervise and coordinate estimates, planning, allocation of labor and parts for all major inspections, rebuilds, workshop repairs and field service activities.
- Ensuring all jobs are compliant and completed successfully by maintaining safety, efficiency, quality, standards and maximizing utilization, while working within estimated pricing and promise dates.
- Represent the service team in its relationships with all customers by maintaining effective communications.
- Communicate scope of work with technicians, assist with diagnosis and communicate with Rosenbauer and other facilities for technical information.
- Ensure that all repairs remain within budget and on time by daily reviewing progress of repairs.
- Assist with inquiries and discuss technical issues with customers.
- Assist with repairs, maintenance and servicing work where required.
- Assist in identifying training requirements for the Service Department.
- Any other duties as directed by management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Good communications skills with both internal personnel and external customers.
- 5+ years experience in large equipment, maintenance and product support.
- 2+ years experience in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships within internal and external customers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Technically minded and ability to troubleshoot problems.
- Computer literate in MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Flexible & collaborative personality. Good at prioritizing (and re-prioritizing), scheduling, and managing issues as they arise
- Ability to perform Preventative Maintenance and Engine Services
- Repair Older Apparatus (Pumps, Electrical, Hydraulic, Lighting, Sirens etc.)
- Prepare New Fire Apparatus for delivery (Inspect for PDI list, Mount Equipment, Service, Wash and Fuel for delivery to Customer)
- Quote repairs to departments, research necessary to order the parts and schedule the repairs
- Maintain the cleanliness of the shop
- The physical capability to lift up to 60 Lbs. and the stamina needed to efficiently navigate and work on large heavy apparatus throughout the day.
Preferred Qualifications: (Or willing to obtain/learn within a year)
- CDL License
- Personal Tools and Toolbox
- Multiplex experience
- EVT and/or ASE Certifications
