We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Emergency Services to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the Emergency Department.
The Director is responsible for the overall performance of Emergency Services, including clinical quality, patient safety, staffing, financial performance, regulatory compliance, patient throughput, employee engagement, and service line growth . This leader will work closely with emergency medicine physicians, nursing leadership, hospital executives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, evidence-based, and patient-centered emergency care.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished Emergency Department RN leader with significant acute care and trauma experience, strong operational expertise, and a demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all Emergency Department functions.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, evidence-based, high-quality, and patient-centered emergency care.
- Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, clinical standards, and best practices.
- Optimize patient throughput, workflow, staffing, capacity, and operational efficiency across Emergency Services.

Monitor Emergency Department performance metrics and implement strategies to improve clinical, operational, and patient experience outcomes.
- Lead quality improvement, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, hospital policies, and emergency care standards.
- Champion initiatives designed to enhance the patient and family experience throughout the Emergency Department.
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain nursing leaders and clinical staff while building a culture of accountability, engagement, and collaboration.
- Partner with emergency medicine physicians, hospital executives, and interdisciplinary leaders to support strategic initiatives and service line growth.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets while monitoring labor costs, productivity, supplies, equipment, and capital expenditures.
- Evaluate staffing models and resource utilization to ensure appropriate coverage while meeting productivity and financial objectives.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication across nursing, medical staff, ancillary departments, and hospital leadership.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement sustainable solutions that enhance Emergency Department performance.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.

Minimum of five (5) years of Emergency Room/Emergency Department RN experience in an inpatient acute care hospital setting.

Minimum of three (3) years of trauma nursing leadership experience .

Demonstrated experience leading Emergency Department clinical operations, staff, and performance improvement initiatives.
