We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Vehicle & Package Safety Inspector to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring vehicles and packages meet company safety and quality standards before they leave the terminal. The ideal candidate is organized, observant, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
This role works closely with drivers and operations staff to identify and resolve issues before vehicles depart.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of company vehicles to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
- Inspect packages for damage, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures.
- Verify vehicles are clean, organized, and ready for dispatch.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to management promptly.
- Assist with moving or repositioning company vehicles as needed.
- Occasionally complete local delivery routes or transport vehicles between locations.
- Work closely with drivers to resolve inspection issues before departure.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with additional operational tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, logistics, fleet, or transportation experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required (Non-CDL)
- Comfortable driving larger vehicles or trucks (experience preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Basic computer or mobile device proficiency for completing inspection documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing vehicle inspections.
- Familiarity with transportation or logistics operations.
- Experience working alongside commercial drivers.
- Minimum of year experience driving box trucks/step vans
