About Us
Our client is a heavy-haul carrier based near Chicago, in business since 2020, running a fleet of ~50 trucks. They specialize in flatbed, step-deck, and RGN transportation of oversize/overweight freight across all 48 states and Alaska.
The Role
We're hiring a Recruiter to source, screen, and onboard CDL drivers (company drivers and owner-operators) for a growing fleet. You'll work closely with the Director of Recruiting, Fleet Manager, and Safety team to keep the pipeline full without compromising on driver quality or compliance standards.
We welcome bilingual candidates fluent in English plus Spanish or Russian, or Ukrainian - our driver community is diverse, and fluency in any of these languages directly expands the pool of qualified candidates you can reach and communicate with effectively.
What You'll Do
- Source CDL-A drivers and owner-operators through job boards, referrals, and driver communities
- Screen candidates for experience, MVR history, and basic qualification fit before handing off to the Safety team for full DQ processing
- Conduct phone and in-person interviews in English and your second language
- Manage the applicant pipeline from first contact through onboarding
- Coordinate scheduling for orientation and onboarding
- Maintain consistent weekly hiring metrics: applications sourced, interviews conducted, hires completed
- Build relationships with driving schools, trucking associations, and referral sources
What We're Looking For
- Fluent English required, plus fluent Spanish, Russian, or Ukrainian (any one of these)
- Prior recruiting experience - trucking/driver recruiting a strong plus, general staffing experience acceptable
- Comfortable working with high call/interview volume
- Organized, follows up without being chased
- No formal degree required
