Report to: Communications 1
Job Description: This position is assigned various duties related to the internal and external media used to communicate church activities in cooperation with the church staff, ministries and volunteers, and provides internal communication support to staff, session, deacons and ministries.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with the promotion and advertising of all internal and external major church events
· Sustain and grow the social media presence of FPC by posting, boosting and other engagement skills
· Attend Communications ministry meeting, Worship Planning, Staff meeting and other ministry meetings as needed to collaborate on upcoming promotions
· Attend large events when requested to help promote/document
· Assist the Communications 1 position with the following:
§ Promoting church and ministry events, classes and programs through print, digital and socials
§ Collect, edit, design and distribute content for print and digital publications for church events and programs
§ Maintenance of FPC website with attention to timely and accurate information and creative additions
§ Write press releases pertaining to church events, announcements, emergency announcements and news
§ Work to ensure sermons/services are readily available through website and promoted on social media
§ Stay current on software, task management tools and ways to integrate Ai
Assist with the maintenance of the following:
· Maintenance of fpchhi.org
· Bulletin production and other content used to advertise FPC
· Graphic elements for various projects as assigned
· Digital Signs and other content for screens around FPC
· Communications related to events concerning Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly
· Provide administrative support when required
Qualifications:
- A degree in communications, public relations or digital marketing or related field or experience
- Aptitude in assisting with graphic design, proofreading and copy editing
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and creative communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with complete discretion
- Computer skills with a wide knowledge of computer programs (MS Office, Adobe, Canva, Social Platforms, Ai, Opti-Signs)
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and maintain healthy work/life balance
- Self-motivated, organized, able to work independently both in house and remotely
- Personal characteristics: dependability, integrity, honesty, loyalty and flexibility
Job duties and exceptions may change as the mission and ministry of FPC evolves, grows, and changes.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
