ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Environmental Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing environmental projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and organizational objectives. This role oversees project execution from initiation through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, stakeholder management, environmental assessments, permitting, and reporting. The Environmental Project Manager works collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, regulatory agencies, and clients to deliver high-quality environmental solutions while minimizing environmental risks and supporting sustainability goals.
The candidate’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead environmental projects from planning through completion.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Monitor project progress, risks, deliverables, and performance.
- Ensure projects meet safety, regulatory, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, contracts, and reporting.
- Coordinate environmental permitting and regulatory approvals.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare and review environmental compliance reports and documentation.
- Manage environmental assessments, site investigations, remediation, and monitoring programs.
- Review technical reports, studies, and environmental data.
- Oversee field activities, consultants, contractors, and technical specialists.
- Assess environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the primary liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings and communicate project status, risks, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, legal, health & safety, and other cross-functional teams.
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures.
- Review and approve contractor and consultant invoices.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Mentor and support environmental staff and project team members.
- Promote environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives.
- Support proposals, client presentations, and business development activities.
- Implement best practices to improve project delivery and environmental performance.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS:
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a badging process (valid ID, no criminal history) required.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, Geology, Biology, Sustainability, or a related field.
- 5+ years of environmental project management experience.
- Experience managing environmental compliance, assessment, remediation, permitting, or sustainability projects.
- Experience working with environmental regulations and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
· Preferred:
o Industry certifications or licensing (e.g., PE, PG, CIH)
o Master's degree (Preferred)

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
