Job Title: Truss Designer
Role: The Truss Designer will welcome customers seeking truss design and building services by providing expert assistance. They will Utilize the Mitek Management system to transform customer plans into detailed quotes by pre-engineering trusses for approval. This role reports to the Plant Manager
Responsibilities:
· Customer Interaction: Welcome customers in person, by phone, or email, understand their needs, and gather necessary plans and specifications.
· Customer Checkout: Process transactions for customers who have approved the engineering designs for their trusses, ensuring all details are accurately recorded and providing receipts and any necessary documentation.
· Truss Design: Use the Mitek Management system to pre-engineer trusses based on customer plans and site inspections.
· Quotation: Create detailed quotes for customers, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
· Approval Process: Present pre-engineered truss designs to customers for approval before moving to production.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the production foreman and plant manager to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of designs, quotes, and customer interactions.

· Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of the Mitek Management system, Bistrack ERP and Outlook.
· Blueprint Literacy: Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints, ensuring all design specifications are understood and correctly applied.
· Regulatory Compliance: In-depth understanding of local, state, and national building codes and regulations related to truss design and construction. Ensures all designs meet the necessary standards and requirements for approval and sealing by certified engineers.
