About Our Program:
Fun Nest Child Care is a licensed private early childhood program intentionally designed to prepare children for a confident and successful transition into Kindergarten.
Although our program is home-based, it is academically structured, professionally operated, and purposefully designed to function as a high-quality private school environment. We are licensed for up to 12 children and operate with separate classrooms, including a dedicated Infant/Toddler program staffed by two teachers and a Preschool & Pre-K classroom focused on advanced school readiness.
Children who graduate from our program consistently demonstrate strong academic foundations, social-emotional maturity, independence, and classroom readiness, often performing at an advanced level when entering Kindergarten.
We are looking for a caring, energetic, and professional substitute teacher who enjoys creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children during the summer months.
Preferred Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with Preschool and/or Pre-K children preferred
- Experience in a licensed childcare or early childhood education environment strongly preferred
- CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
- Strong classroom management and transition management skills
- Ability to independently supervise and manage small groups of children
- Understanding of play-based and developmentally appropriate practices
- Strong communication and parent interaction skills
- Ability to maintain a safe, organized, and licensing-compliant classroom environment
- Comfortable supporting both Preschool/Pre-K and younger Toddler age groups when needed
- Familiarity with Colorado licensing regulations preferred
- Ability to multitask and adapt positively during daily classroom transitions and routines
- Passion for early childhood education and Kindergarten readiness
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, structured, nurturing, and engaging Preschool & Pre-K environment
- Support daily classroom routines, transitions, and activities
- Maintain a balance between academics, play, movement, and outdoor activities
- Foster positive behavior, independence, social-emotional growth, and confidence
- Support children’s early literacy, problem-solving, and Kindergarten readiness skills
- Maintain a clean, organized, and licensing-compliant classroom
- Communicate professionally with families and staff
- Collaborate with the teaching team and provide occasional support with younger age groups when needed
- Adapt positively to the daily needs and routines of the classroom environment
- Maintain high professional standards and confidentiality at all times
