American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department position in Worcester, MA, requiring a permanent MA RN license and a minimum of 18 months of ED experience.

Emergency Department (ED) at a Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Shift start time may flex up to four hours earlier or later based on critical department staffing need (very rarely applied)

26-week contract with option for 13-week contracts as well
-
36 or 48 hours per week scheduling options available

Epic EMR (preferred)

Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation required in this role

Union facility — no special scheduling accommodations can be made; must be available to work all 7 days of the week

Active, permanent MA RN license currently in hand (required)

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS

Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC

Minimum 18 months of RN experience required; 2+ years preferred

Level I Trauma Center experience required

Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac dysrhythmias required

Skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, management of dysrhythmias, and care of ventilated patients required

Two professional references required, at least one of which must be from a Nurse Manager or higher

Candidates must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate

Two pass/fail exams are administered during orientation: a telemetry/EKG exam and a medication exam — each allows only one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation

Study materials are provided during the compliance process and first-day instructions (FDIs) to help prepare for orientation exams

Candidates who have previously worked within this health system must have a 12-month separation before being eligible

Up to 14 days of RTO may be requested; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the contract

One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day) may be included in RTO; priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and 26-week contracts

Preferred experience in psych/behavioral health ED and triage
