Duties
- Provide high-quality care and supervision for children in various classroom settings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nap schedules, diapering, and bathroom needs
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and age groups to ensure seamless coverage during staff absences
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or babysitting settings; familiarity with classroom experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or special needs; experience in special education is a plus
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR; willingness to update certifications as needed
- Compassionate caregiving skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and classroom needs; previous nannying or babysitting experience is beneficial
