Responsibilities
- Perform advanced dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and compassion.
- Operate and maintain dental equipment such as 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and dental sterilization systems following infection prevention protocols.
- Assist dentists chairside during various treatments by managing dental instruments, taking vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, dental charts, and treatment plans.
- Conduct dental imaging procedures including X-rays and medical imaging while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Support the dental reception process by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information through medical coding systems, and managing patient flow efficiently.
- Uphold strict clinical confidentiality policies while maintaining a sterile environment through proper dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in general dentistry with specialized knowledge in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, or prosthodontics.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Hands-on experience with dental equipment such as X-ray units, 3D scanners, and sterilization tools; familiarity with infection prevention management is essential.
- Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Ability to operate patient management software like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic efficiently for scheduling and documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members including dental assistants and reception staff; ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
