Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions in the progressive care setting
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner
- Administer medications accurately, including IV infusions, injections, and specialized treatments like Botulinum toxin therapy and ostomy care
- Monitor cardiac rhythms via telemetry and manage airway, ventilator, and ventilator weaning processes with proficiency in critical care procedures
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists across disciplines such as cardiology, ophthalmology, infectious disease care, and hospice & palliative medicine to develop personalized care plans
- Document all patient interactions meticulously following HIPAA guidelines and medical documentation standards
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection/processing, and wound care procedures like suturing and sterile dressing changes
Requirements
- Valid RN license in good standing; prior experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers highly preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to acute and post-acute patient care
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities, memory care patients, and those requiring behavioral health support
- Skilled in advanced nursing techniques such as aseptic technique, catheterization (including Foley and cardiac catheterization), phlebotomy, tube feeding management, and infection control protocols
- Ability to respond swiftly during emergency situations utilizing critical & intensive care procedures; familiarity with trauma medicine and Level I/II trauma center protocols is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for effective triage assessments, discharge planning, case management coordination, and health coaching
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or neonatal resuscitation are a plus
