PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Mile High Behavioral Healthcare's Walk-in Crisis team is a 24/7 crisis response serving those who require higher level of support after hours. This team provides care for all ages of community members and provides mental health and substance abuse clinical assessments in a crisis.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Walk-in Crisis Empowerment Ally-Case Manager will be responsible for utilize trauma informed care models to support individuals in crisis, provide referrals for ongoing care, utilize de-escalation skills, emotional regulation skills and safety planning to support client success.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The Walk-in Crisis Team operates on a two-week rotating schedule; Team A Week One Sunday-Tuesday (4 days off) and Week 2 Sunday-Wednesday (3 days off). Team B Week One Wednesday-Saturday (3 days off) and Week Two Thursday-Saturday (4 days off) utilizing 12-hour shifts.
Job Duties:
1. Provide crisis de-escalation and emotional regulation support to individuals of all ages.
2. Provide crisis case management for individuals of all ages.
3. Create plans that address all relevant issues: income, employment, children’s needs, education, health, mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, housing, and recovery, legal or other issues.
4. Coordinate with all collaborating agencies’ staff and external service providers as needed to help clients and their families meet their goals.
5. Outreaches other community agencies.
6. May be asked to drive company van to transport clients and their families.
7. Participate in program, agency, and external meetings and trainings.
8. Respond to crisis and emergency calls.
9. Act with utmost professionalism, responding promptly and respectfully to all inquiries, suggestions, requests, and complaints in accordance with agency policy.
10. Maintain appropriate boundaries with participants, observing all confidentiality and HIPAA protocols.
11. Maintain excellent written records and required statistical forms, as well as,
12. Administrative paperwork such as time sheets, mileage sheets, expense reports, and disbursement requests.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors with experience in the field of social work, criminal justice, or counseling.
2. Experience, knowledge of, and sensitivity to homeless issues, and the particular issues and barriers faced by women and women veterans in homelessness.
3. Ability to apply positive engagement, motivational, and leadership skills in a culturally appropriate manner, working with adults and their children from diverse and multiply challenged backgrounds.
4. Experience in care coordination work.
5. Verbal and written communication skills, including detail-minded record-keeping and excellent computer skills.
6. Be able to work independently as well as part of a team, with good personal boundaries and appropriate use of authority.
7. Ability to hear and process critical feedback, as well as, provide it to others.
8. Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.
9. Flexibility, creativity, positive attitude, and good humor.
10. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
11. If offered position, must pass required TB screening, criminal background check, and have a driver’s license and vehicle.
