Diversified Plastics Industrial Solutions is a leading supplier, fabricator, and molder of industrial plastic products for multiple industries including Water Treatment, Agriculture, Pulp and Paper, Forest Products, Food Processing, and General Industrial. We have just celebrated our 50th year in business. We are seeking a Production Control Coordinator to join our efforts to take our company to a new level. This includes customer service along with preparing orders for production. This person works closely with the multiple departments, the operations manager, purchasing manager, sales, production and shipping departments. General Purpose: The Production Control Coordinator is responsible for preparing orders for production. This includes accurate calculation of the number of hours worked per department, machinery to be used, the amount of materials required, and methods needed to get the work accomplished. This person works closely with the operations manager, purchasing manager, production, shipping and sales departments. This person must display professional behaviors that promotes a harmonious work environment, maintaining a respectful, courteous, and cooperative demeanor at all times with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Estimate job times, labor requirements, material usage, and manufacturing methods for new and existing jobs.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures
- Keep a clean, organized work space
- Accurately enter procedures into the ERP systems.
- Requisition materials not currently stocked in inventory.
- Review for accuracy of dimensions and tolerances.
- Assists in reviewing inventory levels, raw goods, ordering and maintaining inventory in conjunction with purchasing expeditor.
- Maintains cut-up logs,
- Become proficient in planning and scheduling jobs to support efficient manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with sales staff on quoting for efficiency and profitability.
- Organize and distribute job travelers and production documentation to manufacturing leads.
- Must have or develop (A) ability to estimate time and materials required for manufacture of product, (B) possess a working knowledge of mechanical function and a variety of materials (C) Good verbal and written communication skills, (D) problem-solving skills, (E) creativity, (F) basic computer skills, (G) service-oriented disposition, (H) positive sales ability with a “can do” attitude and business acumen.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in production control, inventory or manufacturing related work preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP/MRP in manufacturing
- Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and processes quickly.
- Strong organizational and math skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to estimate manufacturing labor, materials, and production requirements.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and various production materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing production demands.
- Service-oriented mindset with strong business acumen and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
- Creative thinker with the ability to identify process improvements.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Industrial Plastic knowledge and/or plastic manufacturing experience plus.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Essential Functions: Sit for extended periods while performing computer-based work. Frequently use hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment. Regularly walk through manufacturing and warehouse environments. Communicate effectively with employees across production and office functions.
