American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a night shift position at a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital in Portland, ME.

Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
26-week contract assignment
-
Respiratory Therapy department covering the entire facility with a team of 14–16 RRTs
-
Patient population includes adult acute and critical care, pediatrics (NICU/PICU), and ED patients
-
Patient ratios: 1:25 for acute care, 1:8 for critical care
-
Ventilator equipment includes Dräger V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm
-
EMR: Epic
-
On-call requirement: 2-hour call obligation for the oncoming shift
-
Floating required across adult acute care, critical care, NICU/PICU, pediatrics, and ED as needed
-
RRT credential required
-
Minimum 2–3 years of respiratory therapy experience
-
BLS required; ACLS preferred; NRP required for NICU coverage
-
Experience in a tertiary, academic teaching hospital required
-
Level 1 trauma experience required

NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred
-
Driver's license required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Provide respiratory therapy services across adult acute and critical care, NICU/PICU, pediatric acute care, and ED settings
-
Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate; local candidates are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions

Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during the application process

A 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply

Use of AirPods, laptops, and personal cell phones on the unit is prohibited

Scrubs are provided or flexible attire is acceptable; no specific unacceptable attire noted

Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
